As Represent PA heads into the final week of campaigning, it has broken its fundraising record, raising $200K.
PHILADELPHIA, October 29, 2018 — Today, Represent PA, the only organization in Pennsylvania investing in progressive democratic women candidates for the Pennsylvania State Legislature in Harrisburg, confirmed record-breaking numbers ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. The organization is set to have an historic year at nearly all levels of engagement: fundraising, endorsements and victories.
“We’re at an unprecedented time for women in politics in PA,” said Christine Jacobs, executive director of Represent PA. “Come January, there will be an historic number of women in elected office because of the funds Represent has raised to help progressive women candidates across the finish line.”
“We started this organization and raised $20,000 four years ago. Then we raised $60,000 two years ago. This year we’ve raised $200,000, allowing us to endorse 40 candidates. We’ve always had a goal to increase the amount of funds we raised and gave away. There’s no going back — we’re thrilled.”
