As special election season draws to a close, Represent PA is very proud of the progressive women who we were able to support.
In April, we endorsed Pam Iovino for State Senate in SD-37, located in Pittsburgh’s northern suburbs. Pam joined the United States Navy after graduating from college and eventually earned the rank of Captain. In 2014, she was appointed to serve as the assistant secretary in the United States Department of Veterans Affairs under President Barack Obama. SD-37 is a very competitive district and was previously held by a republican. On April 2nd, Pam Iovino won her race with 52% of the vote and brought us one step closer to a Democratic majority in the State Senate.
In May, we endorsed Susan Boser for state Senate in SD-41, located in West/Central PA. Susan is a seasoned candidate who took on the challenge of running in a historically Republican-held district. Although she did not win her race, she ran an excellent campaign and spread her progressive message throughout Indiana County. We are looking forward to seeing what Susan does in the future.
